Hummus With Tahini
You may wonder what is hummus? Hummus is a dip or spread made from cooked, mashed chickpeas (garbanzo), blended with tahini (sesame oil), olive oil, lemon juice, salt and garlic. It's often found in Middle Eastern kitchens all over the world. The best hummus has a smooth and creamy texture and is healthy and delicious. Cortas hummus has been a favorite brand of many generations.
How To Make Hummus
Take one clove of garlic and mash it in a mortar and pestlewith a little bit of salt, a bowl will do fine if you do not have a mortar. After mashing the garlic into a paste, take one 13oz can of Cortas Hummus with Tahini and empty it into a bowl and add the garlic to it. Squeeze in half a small lemon on top of that and mix well. Some people also like to add 1 tablespoon of tahini (ground sesame paste) along with the lemon and garlic. This step is not necessary, but it does add flavor and should be considered. After mixing everything together, spoon the hummus in a plate and spread it thin with an outer edge to it. Next pour extra virgin olive oil on top of and and serve it with warm pita bread. Fresh vegetables like radishes, green bell peppers and cucumbers go great on the side.
