Turmeric 16oz

Turmeric comes from a perennial plant in the ginger family, yet tastes nothing like ginger. The flowers are boiled and dried in hot ovens at which point they are ground into this yellowish orange color. It has a mild mustardy smell and is used mainly in Asia and the Middle East. Most curry powders are made with turmeric being a main ingredient. The delicious Middle Eastern cake called “Sfoof” is made with turmeric.
