Coriander seed oil, distilled from the seeds of the cilantro plant, is a pale yellow oil with a delightful spicy, earthy and sweet fragrance.
This essential oil has powerful anti-microbial, anti-spasmodic and analgesic properties that are effective for calming stomach upsets, treating food poisoning and improving digestion when taken internally or massaged on the abdomen.
It is one of the best essential oils to use to soothe tired muscles after a long day or workout. It can be used topically to treat skin infections and relieve menstrual pain, and orally to treat toothache and bad breath.
When inhaled, this scent can clear the mind, reduce anxiety, boost mental energy and uplift mood.
Directions for use
Combine 5-10 drops of coriander oil with 10 ml of carrier oil and massage it into muscles and joints, over the abdomen and into the legs and feet.
Enjoy this calming and uplifting oil aromatically by rubbing a few drops behind the ears, adding 2-3 drops to an oil burner or diffuser, or putting 5 drops in a warm bath.
You can make your own anti-microbial and analgesic mouthwash by adding 2-3 drops to a cup of warm water.
