Khella essential oil, also known as Ammi Visnaga oil, is obtained from a plant in the carrot family called Ammi Visnaga, and has a slightly sweet, fresh and herbal aroma.
Khella oil is most commonly used to treat asthma, bronchitis and allergies. It has powerful anti-spasmodic properties which can relax bronchial spasms and dilate the airways to relieve symptoms of asthma and other respiratory problems. It has also been shown to reduce histamine release, which is responsible for the immune response that causes allergy symptoms.
Khella oil can be applied topically to treat skin disorders by reducing inflammation, treating infections and speeding up skin healing.
The mental and emotional benefits of khella oil when used aromatically, include reducing nervousness, mental tension and feelings of stress.
Directions for use
To open the bronchioles (airways), add 2-3 drops of khella oil to a carrier oil and apply it to the chest and upper back. It can also be applied topically to treat skin issues.
Use khella oil aromatically by adding 2-3 drops to an oil burner or diffuser, a warm bath, or inhale it directly by placing 1-2 drops into your hands.
