Nutmeg essential oil is extracted from the kernels of the nutmeg plant (Myristica fragrans) and has a warm, spicy and sweet aroma. This oil has a history
of use for its therapeutic health properties, and as a natural flavoring for meals, sweets and baked products.
Nutmeg oil contains anti-oxidant compounds which are responsible for many of its health benefits, including anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and pain-relieving
properties. It may be useful to relieve muscle pain, joint inflammation and menstrual cramps when used topically. Its anti-microbial properties make
it an effective oil to eliminate bad breath, relieve tooth pain and treat dental and gum infections.
When used aromatically, nutmeg oil has a calming effect which may help to relieve anxiety and stress and promote good quality sleep.
