Celery oil, extracted from the seeds of the celery plant, has been used medicinally and aromatically for thousands of years in Ayurvedic traditional medicine. It has a complex aroma with spicy, earthy and sweet notes that is frequently used in perfume and massage oil blends.
Celery seed oil contains powerful anti-oxidants and is used to reduce inflammation, swelling, joint pains, muscle aches, menstrual cramps and puffy skin. When used aromatically, celery oil has a calming effect that may help to reduce high blood pressure, anxiety and other symptoms of stress. Studies have also shown that celery seed essential oil is an effective mosquito repellent.
