Orange essential oil, sometimes known as sweet orange oil, is extracted by cold-pressing the peels of the orange fruit (Citrus sinensis) and has a lovely
sweet, refreshing and citrusy scent.
Orange oil contains a compound called D-limonene which is responsible for many of the health benefits of this oil, including anti-inflammatory, antiseptic,
anti-depressant, anti-spasmodic, carminative and sedative effects.
Orange oil can be used externally and aromatically to reduce inflammation and spasms of the muscles, digestive tract and respiratory tract. This antiseptic
oil can be used topically to treat skin irritations and infections, and as a natural surface cleaner for your home.
When used aromatically, orange oil is a mood-booster and relaxant which will infuse your home with a wonderful scent.
Directions for use
Use 1-2 drops of orange essential oil to flavor food and desserts.
Apply orange oil topically to the skin, muscles and joints by diluting 1-2 drops with 10ml of carrier oil and massaging it into the affected areas. Add
5 drops of oil to a warm bath to enjoy its aromatic and external health benefits.
This oil can be inhaled by adding 3-4 drops to an oil burner or diffuser, or placing 2-3 drops into your hands for direct inhalation. Orange essential
oil blends well with lemon, cinnamon, clove, ginger, sandalwood and black pepper oil.
Make a natural antiseptic cleaning solution to wipe down the kitchen, bathroom and other surfaces by mixing 10 drops of orange oil with a cup of water
in a spray bottle.
